VOD, short for Video on Demand, is a practical feature for many Twitch broadcasters. With VOD enabled, your past broadcasts will be saved to your Twitch account for on-demand viewing. In other words, your audience can view the Twitch VODs whenever they want, even if they miss your live-stream. Here is how you can publish VOD streams on Twitch
Store Twitch VODs on a Hard Drive. VODs can take up a lot of space, especially if you are producing at least 1080p quality. If your plan is to download your VODs and store them on your computer, it is a good idea to store them on a second drive as taking up too much space on your main drive will slow it down substantially.
Closed Captions on VODs. I have been using OBS baked in closed captions so people can use a button on the video player to turn captions on and off, because I find the twitch plugin thing to be obnoxious. I could swear it used to also save the captions for my VODS, but lately none of my VODS have a captions button.
Create a Clip on Twitch Using IOS. Step 1. Tap your screen when you want to make the clip (this will work for both live broadcasts and VoDs). Step 2. Select the share option, then choose โCreate Clip.โ. Step 3. Continue to create the clip in the same way you would on a desktop.
Select your microphone next to the "Caption Source" prompt. Use the drop-down menu to make your selection. 8. Select "Caption Source is heard on stream" next to the "when" prompt. This means that OBS will create captions for your stream as long as your mic picks up noise.

I tested it last night and it worked, very simple. I'm using streamlabs and I was not able to get any desktop Audio on my Twitch VODs. I was able to hear my mic audio, but not game or desktop audio. How I fixed it was simply adding an "Audio Output Capture" to my sources. Once I did this, it added audio to my VOD immediately.
Transcoding Options FAQ. When you start a stream, Twitch may transform your broadcast into multiple quality formats to meet the needs of devices and audiences around the world. These quality options are called transcodes. Not everyone has the bandwidth to support a 1080p60 broadcast, and network conditions can change over time.
When streaming on Twitch, there are a number of options available for archiving your content. While you can archive your broadcasts online with our Video on Demand system, you can also archive your broadcasts locally. Locally recording your broadcasts ensures you have a 1:1 copy of your exact stream at the highest quality possible, and also a
The original VOD's don't stay longer than 6 weeks as far as I know, But highlight should stay forever. If not then I'd contact Twitch support. Download them, put them in cloud storage I guess. Mine were glitched for a bit so I had VODS from like 2 years ago, but Twitch fixed it last month :)
