I’ve had friends cancel plans on me at the last minute & specifically state that it was for mental health reasons. I was completely understanding & realized they were trusting me to not judge them. I always ask if they’re okay and/or if there’s anything I can do for them. If they make time for you, they’re invested. It’s a 3-strike rule. The first strike could be anything. The second strike is probably them not being into it, however sometimes irregularities occur that could prevent them from seeing you. A third strike means its game over- they had ample time to make it work. Nah, the internet has made people flaky. Back when mobile phones weren't a thing, you couldn't be late or last-minute cancel plans cause your friends would be waiting where they expected you to be and you'd be viewed as an asshole for bailing. roughly 1/2 of mine cancel less than 24 hours ahead of time. usually they're sick. sometimes they get stuck at work. sometimes their grandma had a stroke. basically i just assume that the date isn't going to happen, until we are standing in front of each other. That's a smart way to think about it. Tinder women will find a way to flake. We have been together for 2 years. My (32M) boyfriend often changes plans on the day of. It has happened more often than not that on the day of he will call me and say that he either will not come (if it's just my place, though this is more rare), or say that he isn't sure if we can go Christmas tree shopping (like today). He never gives a reason. You suck for agreeing to go back the next day so that he could buy some of the clothes he liked on the initial outing and canceling last minute. He sucks for not going alone if you cancelled the plan. The two of you sound very immature. You need to not cancel plans for frivolous reasons and both of you need to work on your communication skills. Kids are unpredictable, especially if the coparent isn’t 100% reliable or they don’t have a set custody schedule. Second one yea, most likely not worth your time. Most ppl can give a heads up ahead of time. A guy cancelled on me 3 hrs ahead of time and gave very detailed reasons and didn’t reschedule for a few days. Expect CFAR to add an average of 50% to your travel insurance cost. I’ve been this way for as long as I can remember. As soon as plans change (even if only by a little bit) I become very anxious and frustrated over it. I find it really hard to be flexible when it comes to routine. This is very frustrating for everyone involved, and honestly I find Gently calling them out on their behavior and letting them know how it makes you feel is a good first step towards having this conversation with them. If it keeps happening, you may want to DoY3r2.
